 One of the prerequisites for opening a business is to be a
reliable person. The law considers every tradesperson to be reliable
unless there is
evidence to the contrary.
The administrative court Oldenburg
(Verwaltungsgericht re 12 B 3858/04) decided that a tradesperson is to
be considered unreliable if he or she has tax arrears. Neither the
trade office nor the administrative court has the duty to check the
lawfulness of the tax assessment. This is absolutely your own problem.
If you need any help with your taxes do think of hiring an attorney or
tax advisor. The expenses can also be deducted from the profits on
which your taxes are based.
