ImageThe Munich Chapter of the American German Business Club (AGBC) is an international group dedicated to networking. Its members participate in monthly meetings and special events to exchange business ideas and build mutually beneficial business and social relationships.

The AGBC Charter
In today's fast-changing and highly competitive environment, networking plays a critical role in building a successful business and advancing one's career.  This is demonstrated by the fact that a vast majority of new business and job opportunities are the result of personal referrals generated through networking activity.

The AGBC has approximately 700 members nationwide representing a broad cross-section of the international business community including financial services, manufacturing, information technology, media, international trade and a range of related business and professional services.

Members are also welcome to extend their networks by interacting with AGBC chapters located in Bonn, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Heidelberg, Frankfurt, Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe, Leipzig und Stuttgart.

Membership and its Benefits
AGBC offers a well-developed infrastructure to support its members in effective networking and to serve as a source of information on key business issues. Expand and cultivate your network through regularly-scheduled meetings:

  • Monthly networking gatherings
  • Special events with guest speakers addressing issues of interest Annual social get-togethers, including 4th of July and Christmas events.

  • Increase your exposure to a larger group of people and businesses through targeted communication channels: AGBC members are invited to briefly present their company or discuss a relevant business topic at the monthly meetings.

  • Members can distribute information or post notices at the information table organized at each meeting.

Identify new contacts and generate referrals through the AGBC Membership Directory:
Published annually, the membership directory includes member names and contact information – a valuable resource for those seeking contacts and services offered by other members.
Members also have the opportunity to advertise in the directory which reaches more than 700 members nationwide.

AGBC Background
The AGBC was founded in 1964 and is headquartered in Bonn. It is dedicated to establishing and supporting American and German commercial relations as well as acting as a forum for social and business networking.  It is a non-profit organization, which more broadly is intended to promote international business relations.

How to Join the Network
The Munich Chapter of AGBC holds networking evenings on the last Wednesday of every month (except July, August and December) at 7.00 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel at Berlinerstr. 93. Entrance is € 23 for members, € 30 for non-members and includes a buffet and two drinks.

Prospective members are invited to get acquainted with the organization and its members by attending one or two networking meetings. If interested in participating further, they are asked to complete a membership application.  

AGBC annual membership fees are € 150 for corporate memberships, € 75 for individual memberships and € 37,50 for students. Potential members should contact Patrick Brennan, Vice President for membership, or Gudrun Surrer, administrative assistant, at:
