In many respects, moving abroad is fun, but the transport of furniture
certainly isn’t. If you don’t have the time to carry boxes, assemble
shelves and kitchen cabinets, then
the service offered by Gosselin
World Wide Moving would be a welcome relief for you.
Gosselin is a large, well-known moving company, headquartered in
Antwerp, Belgium which has offices all over Europe including Munich.
The company was formerly known as Forster International Moving GmbH and
changed its name into Gosselin World Wide Moving München GmbH about 6
months ago.
Owned by the Gosselin Group, the Munich branch serves the needs for
local and international moving services in Southern Germany. “Here, we
started as a local moving company. Our customers were mainly members of
the military. We now also deal frequently with international companies
and institutes, consulates and embassies,” said Christophe Geurts,
Branch Manager of the Munich office.
“Given the fierce competition, gaining a reputation in the commercial
sector is a big challenge. We are an expanding company and aim to turn
accounts into the most important aspect of the business,” he added.
The company provides many services: from packing your belongings,
picking up your furniture at your home address, to loading it into
special containers and placing them onto lorries or onto ships to reach
any destination around the globe. With their thorough knowledge of
international customs requirements all you need to do is decide what
you want to take to your new home address and what you don't.
As Mr. Geurts and I walked around the warehouse, he showed me the
containers that are used during the transportation. “These are
specially designed to handle the move in optimal conditions,” he said.
All around us, there were boxes, of every size and shape. There were
those made to transport books, others for paintings, shelves, mirrors,
mattresses, etc…“Every box is numbered and labeled, ensuring that
nothing goes missing during the move or reaches the wrong customer. The
company is about logistic planning and good team-work,” said Mr. Geurts.
Here are some statistics from the Munich office: 15 packers, 4 people
working in the customers’ care department, 2 trailers, 6 lorries and a
2000 sq/m warehouse. Every year, our group handles about 60,000
household goods and baggage moves for more than 140 million pounds.
